Most are unaware of the region of southeastern Washington and northern Idaho called the Palouse. (The spell check on this program doesn't even recognize the word.) The southern slopes of the Palouse drop into the Snake River in Washington and the Clearwater River in Idaho. It's volcanic soil make it some of the most fertile agronomy land in the world. Hundred plus bushel/acre wheat is quite common. Once featured in National Geographic, it is one of the most beautiful spots in the world.
